Sixth Grade Science

This course is developed through four strands: Life science, Earth and space science, and physical science. Through lectures, discussions, labs, and projects the students will investigate cells, heredity, body systems, plate tectonics, glaciers, fossils, weather, pH, conservation of energy, currents, and gravitational force. Sixth grade also participates in the Our Lady of Fatima Science Fair in January.

Seventh Grade Science

This course is developed through one strand: Life science. Through lectures, discussions, labs, and projects the students will investigate organisms from single cells to complex multi-cellular animals, plants, heredity, body systems, ecosystems, and ecology. Seventh grade also participates in the Our Lady of Fatima Science Fair in January.

Eighth Grade Science

This course is developed through two strands: Earth science and Matter. Through lectures, discussions, labs, and projects the students will investigate the Earth from the driving forces inside the Earth to the formations on the Earth, agents of erosion, the Geological Time Scale, Earth’s resources, atoms, Periodic Table, and chemical reactions. Eighth grade also participates in the Our Lady of Fatima Science Fair in January.
