Ms. Lisa Taylor

School Principal

27 Years in Education 

Ms. Lisa Taylor grew up in Denver and attended Notre Dame Catholic School, Saint Mary’s Academy and Regis University. Before becoming Fatima’s principal, she taught third grade for thirteen years.  In addition to her Bachelor’s Degree from Regis, she also holds a Master of Arts Degree from the University of Colorado in Curriculum and Instruction.  Ms. Taylor is currently a student in the Saint John Vianney Leadership Institute.  Ms. Taylor enjoys reading, traveling, and cooking with her Italian mother.

Mrs. Patti Zarlengo

School Secretary

18 Years Experience

During her thirty plus years at Our Lady of Fatima, Mrs. Zarlengo has taken on many roles. First, as a parent while her three children attended Fatima from 1981 to 1996. She returned as first grade para-professional in 1999 and since 2004 Mrs. Zarlengo has been the school secretary. The Zarlengo family are pioneers of Our Lady of Fatima Parish and both she and her husband, Bob, are members of the parish community today.

Mrs. Ruth Ondrusek

ELC/BASE Director

36 Years in Education

Mrs. Ondrusek is proud to be a Colorado native, living in Lakewood throughout her childhood Ruth’s family were parishioners of Our Lady of Fatima. She married her husband of 29 years at Fatima and her daughter attended school at Fatima for 1st through 8th grade.  Ruth received her degree in Early Childhood Education from Northeastern Colorado Junior College and became director qualified in 1980, when she began her continual career in Early Childhood Education.  This marks the 19th year Ruth has had the privilege to work at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School; the early learning program she has developed over the years has brought her great pride.  Mrs. Ondrusek loves working with the children on a daily basis and appreciates the humor that develops with the wonderful children at Our Lady of Fatima.  During summers and time off Ruth enjoys spending time outdoors, time with family, walking her dog, and working out.  Ruth is also a long-time member of Alpine Rescue Team helping people having a bad day in the Colorado mountains.

Mrs. Nancy Waring

School Nurse

33 Years in Nursing

Mrs. Waring, better known as “Nurse Nancy”, holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Nursing. She enjoys working with the students, especially during the 9Health Fair that she organizes for Fatima every year. She and her husband, Bruce, have two sons. Mrs. Waring loves spending time with her family, camping, hiking and biking.

Mrs. Kim Simonson

Preschool Teacher

18 Years in Education

Mrs. Simonson is a native of Colorado.  She attended Catholic school from Kindergarten through high school.  Mrs. Simonson attended the University of Northern Colorado and has been teaching for 18 years.  She is married and has two daughters and two dogs. Her daughters attended Catholic primary school and are currently students at Holy Family High School. Outside of school she loves to spend time with her family, bake cookies, take cooking classes, and watch the Broncos.

Mrs. Michelle Brown

Pre-Kindergarten and Resource Teacher

Mrs. Michelle Brown was born and raised in Kansas City, MO.  She and her husband, Jeff, lived in many different places while he served in the Air Force. Six years ago, they settled in Colorado with their three daughters, all who attend Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School.  Mrs. Brown comes to the Our Lady of Fatima community with many years of teaching experience and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s Degree in Special Education.  When not in the classroom, Mrs. Brown loves spending time outdoors with her family.  You may also find her running with the Fatima Running Club and Cross Country Team as she helps coach both groups. She feels blessed to have the opportunity to teach at Our Lady of Fatima and is excited to work with the students and their families.

Ms. Caroline Wurst

Kindergarten Teacher

Ms. Wurst was born in St. Louis, Missouri but grew up in Sylvania, Ohio.  She attended Miami University of Ohio and received a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education accompanied with a minor in Family Studies. When she is not in the classroom, Ms. Wurst enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, camping, exploring, running, and kayaking. She also loves spending time with her friends and family! She is so excited to be a part of the OLF family and looks forward to many amazing years.

Mrs. Michelle Rodriguez

First Grade Teacher

Mrs. Rodriguez has taught both Pre-Kindergarten and First Grade at OLF and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Regis University.  Before teaching, Mrs. Rodriguez worked in the corporate world and then worked at home with her two children whom she and her husband feel are blessed to have been students at Fatima, from Pre-K thru 8, and are currently at Arrupe Jesuit High School.  She greatly enjoys working with the younger “kiddos” as they venture into school as “big” first graders.

Mrs. Sylvia Trujillo

Second Grade Teacher

24 Years in Education

Mrs. Trujillo is a veteran teacher at Our Lady of Fatima. She is a native of Durango, Colorado and graduated from the University of Utah. Mrs. Trujillo is married and has an adult daughter who attended Fatima K-8. In her spare time Mrs. Trujillo loves to sew, read, and create beadwork.  She enjoys taking walks around Crown Hill Open Space. Mrs. Trujillo is a product of Catholic schools and believes wholeheartedly in the spiritual and academic benefits of a Catholic education.

Mrs. Kim Bunker

Third Grade Teacher

Mrs. Bunker has a Technical Journalism Degree from Colorado State University and an Elementary Education Degree from the University of Denver. Mrs. Bunker is married and has five children, and four grandchildren. She likes to read, do jigsaw puzzles and shop. Mrs. Bunker is a native of Colorado and attended Catholic schools from third through twelfth grades.

Ms. Tiffany Moeder

Fourth Grade Teacher

Ms. Moeder comes to us from California. She spent her primary years in San Diego and made a move up north to California State University, Chico where she graduated with a degree in Education. Ms. Moeder spent three years teaching for the Oakland Diocese in Berkeley before moving to Colorado in 2000. She then joined the Archdiocese of Denver and is pleased to be a part of the Fatima family. Outside of teaching Ms. Moeder enjoys photography, traveling and all outdoor activities

Miss Katie McNulty

Fifth Grade Teacher

Miss Katie McNulty graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors from the University of Northern Colorado in May of 2014 and is no stranger to the OLF community.  She was a student at Fatima from preschool through sixth grade and has been a parishioner at Fatima for most of her life. When she is not teaching, Miss McNulty can be found working on getting her Master’s degree in Theology from the Augustine Institute, hiking, taking pictures, writing articles for her website, and deepening her love for the Catholic faith.

Mrs. Blair Beach

Fifth Grade Teacher

Mrs. Beach grew up in Indiana where she attended St. Paul and Indiana University. She obtained a Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University in elementary education. After graduation, she began her teaching career as an intermediate teacher in Kentucky where she taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students both reading and social studies.  After traveling to the beautiful state of Colorado to visit her aunt, she decided to move. While waiting for her license to transfer, Mrs. Beach taught preschool at The Goddard School in Englewood, Colorado. After receiving her Colorado Teaching License, she began working for Cherry Creek Schools as a fifth grade teacher at Fox Hollow Elementary until she decided she wanted to pursue a teaching position in a Catholic school. In her free time Mrs. Beach enjoys traveling, golfing, camping and spending time with her family and friends.

Mrs. Susan Gilbride

Middle School Language Arts Teacher

Mrs. Susan Gilbride, although not a native, has made Colorado her home with her husband and son.  She has had the pleasure of teaching at Our Lady of Fatima for the last ten years.  Throughout the years, she has had the great fortune of getting to know the wonderful families at Fatima and growing professionally.  “It is truly a blessing to be here.”  In her free time, she likes to ski, swim, mountain bike, and listen to her son perform.

Mr. Tim Langston

Middle School Science and Social Studies Teacher

Mr. Langston moved to Colorado from Louisiana after graduating college. He has been teaching since 2006 and is thrilled to be part of the OLF family. Mr. Langston attended Catholic school from grades K-8 in Louisiana and values and recognizes the strong foundation that a Catholic education provides. Mr. Langston is professionally certified in both Social Studies and Science, but his true passion is exciting students with science. He obtained his Master’s degree from the University of Colorado at Denver in Secondary Science Curriculum and Instruction. He married Fort Collins native Danielle in 2007 and couldn’t be happier to be in Colorado.

Mrs. Stephanie Koch

Middle School Religion and Mathematics Teacher

30 Years in Education

Mrs. Koch teaches Algebra I to 8th grade, Pre-Algebra to 7th, and 6th grade Math, and also teaches Religion to 6th thru 8th grades. She is currently studying at the Catholic Biblical School and loves it!  She grew up in Michigan and Florida, graduating from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor’s in Education in 1984. That same month, she married her husband, a native of Colorado, and moved to Denver. They have four daughters, all of whom attended Catholic school, and two of whom also teach at Our Lady of Fatima! Mrs. Koch has taught in both Catholic and public schools. She has focused mostly on middle school and (believe it or not) preschool. She loves teaching middle school students with all of their ups and downs, their keen sense of justice and humor. She loves reading, baseball, hiking, and gardening/cooking.

Ms. Anna Phelan

Music Teacher

Ms. Phelan grew up in southern Ontario on the Great Lakes. She attended the University of Windsor where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. Before coming to Fatima she traveled in “Up with People”, visiting 9 countries for a year then moved to Colorado in the summer of 2000.  She and her husband have 2 boys and together they love to hike, camp and listen to music!  She joined the OLF faculty in 2002 and has been loving it ever since.  Ms. Phelan loves the challenge of creating performances so that students can shine!

Ms. Madeline Crouse

Art Teacher

Originally from Ohio, Ms. Crouse moved to the wonderful state of Colorado in 2005 after graduating from Kent State University with a BA in Art Education. After teaching in several Archdiocese schools in the Denver metro area, she attended the University of Northern Colorado and received a MA in Curriculum and Instruction. Ms. Crouse is excited to be part of the OLF community and looks forward to many wonderful years!  In addition to working as an art educator, Ms. Crouse is a painter, a gardener, and a hiker. She occasionally enjoys scaring herself silly watching zombie movies.

Sra. Victoria Veintimilla

Profesora de Español

12 Years in Education

Sra. Victoria Veintimilla is the new Profesora de Español at Our Lady of Fatima.  She was born and grew up in Ecuador where most of her family still lives to this day.  In 1992 she and her husband Rafael, along with their two sons, Rafael and Juan Diego, moved to the United States and made Colorado their home.  Her boys are now graduated from university and are working in Raleigh, North Carolina and Chicago, Illinois.  Before moving to the United States, Sra. Veintimilla worked for 8 years in the banking industry but she wanted to try something new in the U.S. This is when she was offered a job at Our Lady of Fatima and stayed for 6 years while her boys attended school here.  Then she worked for 2 years at a local accounting firm as the office manager but soon realized that she missed working with children.

In 2005, Sra. Veintimilla started again in education at Maple Grove Elementary and worked there for the past 11 years.  However, at the end of the last school year, Ms. Taylor offered her the Spanish teacher position at Our Lady of Fatima and she is so excited to be back!  Sra. Veintimilla enjoys family time most of all, but she is also a foodie aficionado, jewelry making, coffee drinking, fashion lover that loves working with kids!

Mr. Jim Stevens

Physical Education and Health Teacher

22 Years in Education

Mr. Stevens grew up in Santa Barbara, California. He attended Regis College in Denver, Colorado. Mr. Stevens has taught Physical Education and Health for 22 years for the Archdiocese of Denver. “I love teaching and coaching all age groups,” says Mr. Stevens.  Mr. Stevens has also coached many sports over the years including tennis, basketball, and volleyball. Mr. Stevens enjoys being a member of the Fatima family. Mr. Stevens is married and together, the Stevens’ enjoy playing tennis, riding bikes and travelling. Mr. and Mrs. Stevens are parents to a sweet golden retriever named Sadie and an adorable kitty, Abby.

Mrs. Courtney Lamb

Technology Teacher

12 Years in Education

Mrs. Lamb grew up in southern Idaho. She attended Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. In 2004 Mrs. Lamb graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts. She majored in Philosophy and received a teaching certificate with an elementary education endorsement. Upon graduating from Gonzaga, Mrs. Lamb moved to Seattle, Washington and began her first teaching job at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic School teaching fourth grade. She taught at Guadalupe for two years until she moved to the Denver area in 2006. Mrs. Lamb taught fourth grade at Saint Catherine of Siena School. During this time, she completed her Master’s Degree in Education from National University. After one year at Saint Catherine’s, Mrs. Lamb transferred to Our Lady of Fatima where she began teaching fifth grade. Mrs. Lamb now enjoys teaching technology skills to students in first through eighth grade. She is currently working on her doctorate in Educational Leadership.

Mrs. Stephanie Chaney

Librarian

Mrs. Chaney grew up in Nebraska where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nebraska. Shortly after that she moved to Colorado and stayed home with her two children. Once they were in school, Mrs. Chaney earned her Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Denver. Mrs. Chaney spent nine years working at Bishop Machebeuf High School. This is Mrs. Chaney’s second year at Our Lady of Fatima.  Mrs. Chaney loves reading and loves to talk about books—just ask her! She also loves to watch Nebraska football, Broncos football, and Avalanche hockey!

Mr. Mike Weathers 

Athletic Director

12 Years as Athletic Director  

Reflecting back on my 25 years at Fatima, I am truly blessed and honored to not only coach here for the past 21 years but also to serve as your Athletic Director for the past 14. It has been a joy! My wife of 36 years, Leslie, served on many committees during this time while our children Kati (29) and Kevin (22) were attending OLFCS.  I am a graduate of Mullen H.S. and Regis University with stints at the University of Hawaii and Denver University thrown in for good measure (actually the golf teams at both were the calling). My coaching philosophy is:  if you, as a player, don’t improve I have failed you. I truly cherish working with the kids and plan to continue for as long as I am able. Mrs. Lisa Unger

First and Second Grade Teaching Assistant

Mrs. Unger feels blessed to share her days with both the First and Second Grades. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Colorado State University in Business with a specialty in Human Resource Management. She is married with three children, all graduates of OLF.

Mr. Joe Dell

Pre-Kindergarten and BASE Teaching Assistant

Joseph Dell, or “Mr. Joe”, grew up in Arvada and has had family involvement in both Our Lady of Fatima Parish and School. He grew up in Arvada and attended Ralston Valley high school, graduating in 2013. He began working at Fatima his senior year and truly enjoys working with the students. During his free time, Joseph has a passion for fitness, hiking, and healthy cooking.

Ms. Olivia Koch

Kindergarten Teaching Assistant

Ms. Olivia Koch graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Social Work degree in 2015. She has spent two years working with children, both in the classroom and through her experiences in social work. She is now looking forward to a new adventure alongside the kindergartners at Our Lady of Fatima. Outside of the classroom, Ms. Koch can be found making bagels, reading, and spending time with her family.

Ms. Sarah Koch

Pre-Kindergarten and BASE Teaching Assistant

Ms. Sarah Koch is our Pre-K Teaching Assistant. She was born and raised here in Colorado and attended St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School. She loves being back at a Catholic School to work. She loves working with Pre-K and did so for four years previously. Helping with arts and crafts is her favorite thing to do in the Pre-K room.  Ms. Koch loves being able to work in the same school as her mother and sister.
